On 11th April 2025, the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) of Mexico launched public consultation on the “Draft Agreement modifying the effective date of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on approved products, equipment, devices or apparatus for telecommunications or broadcasting”.

The main objectives of the public consultation are:
- to postpone the implementation date of the “Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on approved products, equipment, devices or apparatus for telecommunications or broadcasting” from July 2025 to July 1, 2027.
- to safeguard the availability of the vector file containing the IFT Seal until the appropriate action is taken by the telecommunications and broadcasting regulatory authorities amid ongoing reforms and dissolving of some entities like IFT within them.
- to provide certainty to manufacturers, distributors, marketers and importers of approved equipment, devices and sections for telecommunications or broadcasting.
